Incandescent lamps have
been one of the core products of Victory Lighting's business since 1991, when
the company took over the special lamp manufacturing operations of OSRAM-GEC in
London.
Additional products joined the range following the acquisition
of the special incandescent lamp manufacturing activity of THORN Lighting shortly
afterwards.
Since that time VICTORY has developed numerous special types
for customers as specialised as NASA and the Ministry of Defence.
Our ranges of incandescent lamps have a broad
variety of applications: Airfield Lighting -
These lamps are used to light the approach path for aircraft landing strips in
both civil and military aviation. They are also used as glide approach path indicators
in the VASI and PAPI type systems. These ground-based airfield lamps are constant
current types, for operation on 6.6 or 8.33 Ampere circuits. A number of tungsten
halogen retrofit types are also manufactured. A range of high voltage and high
wattage obstruction lamps is also available, in spherical bulbs with 'bunch' type
filaments. Additionally, special underwing aircraft landing floodlights are
offered in both single and twin filament configurations for military service.
Ceremonial - These
high wattage lamps are employed on military ships for general lighting purposes.
They are are equipped with weather-resistant hard glass bulbs and are produced
in the 110v 750w rating.
Underwater - Our underwater diving lamps are unique in
that they are designed for operation with the glass bulb directly in contact with
the water. A special 1mm thick spherical bulb of the toughest hard glass withstands
pressures down to 1200 feet, and means that no further luminaires need to be fixed
to the lamp, presenting a very compact light source of high power that is invaluable
to the deep sea diver. They are rated 1000 watts and available in both 110v and
220v designs.
Thermoforming - These infra-red lamps are intended for use
with an external reflector, and are suitable for heating plastic and forming complex
shapes. Our lamps are rated 110v / 375w.
Signal Lamps -
We manufacture three signal lamps which are used in the London Underground. They
are all 100 volt types and are available in 5w, 6.5w and 32.5w ratings. The 32.5w
lamp is equipped with two filaments, one providing an emergency back-up should
the first fail while in service. High Wattage GLS Lamps -
These are lamps that can be used for general lighting purposes. They are available
in ratings of 300, 500 and 1000 watts. A second family of highly loaded lamps
with high colour temperature is also made available for photographic floodlighting
applications.. Specialist Lamps - We
design and manufacture a range of specialist lamps for specific applications.
Examples of these are operating table theatre lamps which are designed and manufactured
to precise specifications.
